About Us
Anna Morehart manages and plays violin in the Sapphire String Quartet. She attended the University of Wisconsin - Rock County as a music major and also is registered through the Suzuki Institute as a trained teacher. She is the strings teacher at St. Paul’s Lutheran School in Janesville in addition to maintaining a large private studio. Previously a member of the Beloit Janesville Symphony, Anna has coached the Janesville Golden Strings, and works as the strings specialist with the Rock Prairie Youth Orchestra.
Martha Morehart plays violin in the Sapphire String Quartet. She holds a bachelor’s degree in music from Houghton College, Houghton NY, and a Masters of Fine Arts from Ohio University, Athens OH. Martha has performed with the Beloit Janesville Symphony, and in various church and community venues including the orchestras of the Choral Union, and the Armory Dinner Theater. She maintains a large private studio offering violin, viola and guitar lessons. Martha also plays guitar with the quartet for some of their contemporary arrangements. In addition, Martha is the mother of Anna and Elaine Morehart.
Elaine Morehart plays viola in the Sapphire String Quartet. Her performance experience includes the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestra, WSMA Honors Orchestra, Choral Union and the Beloit Janesville Symphony. The recipient of two MacDowell Club scholarships, Elaine has attended summer music camps throughout the Midwest. She teaches viola in private studio and her students have a signature tone and musicality.
Amanda Mory plays cello in the Sapphire String Quartet. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Art Education from University of Wisconsin, Madison. Amanda was a member of the Janesville Golden Strings where she toured and performed in England and France. In college she performed regularly with the UW All University String Orchestra, as well as a chamber string quartet. She currently resides in Janesville, and is employed by the Janesville School District as an art teacher
